Our Story

A FOCUS ON FAMILY, FOOD, AND HOSPITALITY

Since Adriana's on The Hill opened its doors in December of 1992, the focus has been on serving delicious Sicilian-American food, showing hospitality to all, and supporting family. Walking into Adriana's has the same charm as stepping foot into grandma's Sicilian kitchen. It bustles with people and activity, scrumptious scents waft through the air, all feel welcome, and all leave with full stomachs and warm hearts.

Meet the Family

ADRIANA FAZIO

A few years before Adriana was born, her parents immigrated to The Hill neighborhood in St. Louis from Sicily. The heart of their home was the kitchen where a love for family and food became one. Cooking with family and for others was a way they demonstrated love and care for one another. So naturally, when Adriana's daughter Suzanne wanted to own a sandwich shop, Adriana set aside her own plans to support her daughter's dream. As a nod to their mother and her involvement, Adriana's daughters named the deli after her. Like a maestro directing an orchestra, Adriana ran her namesake so that family, Sicilian-American food, and hospitality fused together harmoniously. Today, Adriana's daughters Suzanne, Dianna, and Tia continue to operate Adriana's on The Hill along with other family members and staff who feel like family. They continue to value relationships with others, Sicilian food and culture, and hospitality and service above all else.

SUZANNE

Behind the scene, Suzanne is credited with applying her personal creative touch to their menu items. She loves recreating their Sicilian family recipes and sometimes thoughtfully adding an American twist for their customers. Adriana's is known for its sandwiches, but its unique and flavorful soups and side dishes differentiate it from many other Italian delis on The Hill. Adriana's has received many accolades, including being featured on the Food Network. However, Adriana's is much more interested in showing hospitality to their customers than notoriety.

DIANNA

At Adriana's, customers can expect not only to receive a delicious lunch, but also to feel embraced in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Up front, Dianna carries on her mother's legacy of genially greeting customers, often by name, and loves the personal touch of taking their order by hand. Over the years, many customers have become true friends of the family, and some customers have connected with them in such a way that their stories will be remembered forever.
